Who is “the Last Act”?
The current incarnation of “the Last Act” formed in 2008 with the addition of Jason Turnbull, Paul Larsen, and Andrew Whiting. Andrew has since been replaced by Taylor Sanderson in late 2010. Jeff Larsen is the only original member that has been in the group since the beginning, and simply refuses to leave (or who’s intelligence can be questioned for not knowing when to quit!). A group of guys from Calgary, Alberta, Canada that have a unique and exceptional writing ability which has been called “Perfect” and “Genius”, and even “the only real rock left in the world today”.
What can we expect to see live?
Testimonials from various venues in and around Calgary:
I’ve been promoting for years, and I see approx. 20 bands a week. I rarely get blown away by an unknown band, and “the Last Act” blew me away! That’s the truth!
Philly Roach – The Distillery Owner and Operator
As “the Last Act” started to rumble at Tracks pub in Olds the audience sat still. Song by song The Last Act amazed the people of Olds turning the night into a roaring success. The Last Act is a Canadian phenomenon who will become international superstars.
Scott van de Pypekamp – Tracks Pub Owner and Operator
So you can guess that whenever you go to see these guys, it will be an absolutely excellent and rarely (very rarely) paralleled show! Every show these guys have played since October 2009, no matter how big or how small, has left the crowd in awe and in an absolute euphoric frenzy.
What are their songs like and are they any good?
The music and the sound has been described as:
A style of music that coerces together a fresh hard rock sound with a touch of metal, complete with an “old skool rock” kind-of feel. It’s a completely new but familiar hard rocking sound.
Are they any good? Listen to the samples below and judge for yourself. Several independent A&R companies have expressed their interest, excitement, and admiration for several of the songs shown below.
Videos
All of these videos are candid shots created by fans. So as for the quality goes, I guess you get what you get =P. But you can see the raw talent and skill that the band possesses.

This song was another huge success, but you will also get a good idea of the kind of energy found at one of the shows!
